Kory Hedman named director of the Power Systems Engineering Research Center

Kory Hedman, associate professor in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at Arizona State University, has been named the new director of the Power Systems Engineering Research Center, or PSERC. Hedman will replace ASU Regents Professor Vijay Vittal, who has held the position for the last 15 years. 

Colbourn’s lifetime of design theory work lands Stanton Medal

Charles Colbourn is the recipient of the 2019 Stanton Medal from the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications, or ICA, for his lifetime contributions to the discipline of combinatorics. The medal recognizes Colbourn’s efforts in support of combinatorial design theory through advocacy, outreach, service and teaching.  

Feng Ju named SME Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer

Feng Ju, an assistant professor of industrial engineering in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering, was recently named an Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer by SME (formerly called the Society of Manufacturing Engineers).
